Wedding Photography and Video at The Great Barn // Simon and Ingrid

On the 14th July 2017 Simon and Ingrid held their marriage ceremony at The Great Barn in Banbury.  Ingrid got ready at the barn, supported by her mother and best friend, with the talented Lucy Beesley MUA. In her beautiful wedding gown from Love Bridal, holding her trailing bouquet of white flowers, by Hibiscus Floral Design, Ingrid stood before us as a gorgeous, glowing bride.
Played in by her Step-Dad’s guitar trio The McAlleys, Ingrid gracefully walked  with a beaming smile to meet Simon at the end of the aisle.
After vows were shared and tears were shed, the newly wed couple were whisked away on the ground’s buggy for their photoshoot. Our photographer captured some beautiful shots through the lush greenery and over the lilly-pad carpeted lake.
Simon and Ingrid then returned to mingle with friends and family, enjoying the delicious canopies the barn had to offer. Once the ceremony room had been transformed into beautifully decorated dining quarters, thanks to Yellow Star Designs, guests were invited to their seats for the couple’s grand entrance as husband and wife.
Like a theatre encall, the most enthusiastic round of applause that the Finishing Touch team have ever heard accompanied Simon and Ingrid into the wedding breakfast.
Heartfelt and hilarious speeches then followed, leaving the guests in tears and stitches. Provided by Kearney’s Catering, a grand three course meal was presented and guests awed over the lovely wedding cake from Marks & Spencers.
Before the sun set, the team brought the happy couple out into the corn fields for an atmospheric photo shoot, capturing the golden sun amidst the golden grains.
With a live band Blue Juice Simon and Ingrid had their first dance and were quickly joined by friends and family who certainly knew how to bogey.
Everything came into place perfectly for this wedding celebration and we are so grateful to have captured such a wonderful day.

Wedding Photography and Video at The Belfry Hotel, Sutton Colfield // Nik & Kerry

Nik and Kerry got married at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield and my what a colourful wedding it was.

Kerry got ready with her nearest and dearest at the hotel. She wore a beautiful pink and gold Indian outfit matched with gold Jimmy Choo shoes, while her bridesmaids wore navy and blush dresses. Once Kerry was ready, we were able to capture some portraits of our stunning Bride along with some family portraits.
Kerry walked down the aisle with her father to meet her husband-to-be and the service began.
Once the wedding ceremony was complete, the couple headed outside for group photographs with their nearest and dearest. This gave us a chance to get the group shots out the way so we could have some time with our couple to capture the two of them during the couple’s photoshoot. As the newlyweds decided they weren’t going to change outfits, we had enough time to make use of the venue grounds and headed over to the golf course for some images around the bridge and fields. Our team certainly do love getting on golf buggies! We headed back to the venue for more photographs indoors so that the couple had lots of variety.
Nik and Kerry made their grand entrance into the reception to cut their cake. After this they sat down at their top table ready for their speeches, which then lead on to them being invited onto the dance floor for their first dance as Husband and Wife. The dance floor opened and the guests joined them to celebrate their new married journey.
Congratulations Nik and Kerry. We wish you all the very best. Thank you for choosing the Finishing Touch to be part of your day.

Hindu Wedding Photography and Video at Loughborough Grammar School // Hiten & Pooja

Hiten and Pooja married in Spring 2017 in a grand Hindu Wedding at Loughborough Grammar School, which was very fitting for their love of Harry Potter!

When Pooja arrived to the venue we were able to sneak her away to capture some lovely bridal portraits. She wore a stunning traditional red and green bridal sari with matching accessories. Hiten and his guests arrived to the venue and the celebratory precession began with lots of dancing and singing along to dhol players. It was sure to be a lively and colourful wedding.
Hiten made his entrance into the venue to begin the first part of the ceremony. Pooja then made her entrance and walked down the aisle. The Hindu ceremony began, the couple made their vows and took their 7 steps into marriage.
Once the wedding ceremony had finished, guests made their way to grab some lunch while we took the couple away for some newly-wed portraits around the stunning grammar school grounds. It was a sunny afternoon and the blossom made for perfect Spring photographs. As the couple had planned for their reception party to be the following day, we had plenty of time to capture some beautiful footage and photographs.
Once Hiten and Pooja had a little time to unwind and have some lunch it was time to say goodbye to their guests in a traditional Vidaai ceremony. Guests lined up while the Bride and Groom did their rounds of bidding farewell.
The day, the couple headed to Domain Plaza in West Bromwich to celebrate their new married life. They had an awesome Marvel/Harry Potter novelty wedding cake and a huge “Mr & Mrs” light up display. Before the guests arrived we captured couple portraits around the inside of the venue. Pooja wore a navy blue indian party dress while Hiten opted for a navy suit to match his lovely wife. The guests entered the reception and the couple made their grand entrance to kick start their celebrations.  They evening included a dance act by 3 younger guests and a jazz musical act by Pooja’s brother’s band.
It was a fantastic lively party, we had so much fun capturing it. Congratulations once again Hiten and Pooja. Thank you for choosing the Finishing Touch to be part of your day!

THE EXPERTS: MY ULTIMATE GUIDE TO A SIKH WEDDING: PART 1.

Put on your dance shoes and get ready to balle balle, screw on that light bulb, sweep the floor, crowd surf and party like a rock star. Yes. I love Sikh weddings purely because they know how to throw a good party. I also love all the colour, the pre-wedding parties and of course the traditions and rituals that are followed, so this is my ultimate guide to a Sikh wedding. It may not be the perfect guide, but it’s what I know and what I have learnt from the many Sikh weddings I have covered

Hindu Wedding Photography and Video at The Belfry Hotel // Alpesh & Nisha

We had a jam-packed day for Alpesh and Nisha’s wedding celebrations. The couple tied the knot in a Civil Ceremony followed by a traditional Hindu Wedding Ceremony and Reception, which all took place at The Belfry Hotel in Sutton Coldfield.
Nisha got ready in her hotel room, with the help of talented Jaineesha Make-Up and Hair Artist.  Nisha’s first outfit of the day was a stunning white wedding dress which she wore with her hair down with soft makeup for the civil ceremony. Once she was ready, she she made her way down to the foyer to surprise her husband- to- be in a “First Look” photoshoot followed by a couples photoshoot session and photographs of the couple with their close loved ones.

Once the couple exchanged their vows and became an official married couple, they walked back down the aisle together and were showered with confetti. We were given access to the roof of the ceremony room… Yes… THE ROOF! where we were able to look down onto the wedding guests to capture the big group shot.
Guests headed back inside to mingle, which gave our couple chance to sneak off to change into their traditional Indian wedding attire.  Our lovely bride wore a beautiful off-white, red and green outfit with matching jewellery. Jaineesha gave her a completely different look for the Indian ceremony . Once  ready, we captured a few shots of Nisha with her new look before leaving her to have a few quiet minutes to herself.
Meanwhile, Alpesh made his way to the wedding ceremony room. He’d  changed into a traditional Sherwani for the Hindu ceremony. It was a tad rainy during the day but this didn’t stop our Groom and his nearest and dearest having a little dance outside to the beat of the Dhol player drumming away.
Nisha entered the room and the Hindu ceremony began.  The couple had some photographs taken with guests on the stage before they both headed off to get changed one last time for their reception party whilst their Guests were entertained with champagne.
Once Alpesh and Nisha were ready for their reception, we took them out around the grounds of The Belfry to capture another couples photoshoot in their lovely 3rd outfits of the day. Luckily, the sun had come out just before sunset so we were able to capture beautifully lit photos outdoors with the hazy sun creating a stunning glow.
The newlyweds entered their reception dancing through a crowed of cheering guests. We love it when our couples own their entrance! They headed straight to the dance floor  to cut their wedding cake before sitting down at the top-table to hear speeches from their nearest and dearest.  The couple took centre stage for their first dance as Mr and Mrs. They surprised guests with a choreographed routine halfway through their first dance which was lovely to capture. This officially opened the dance floor for guests to join them and what a crazy party it was, full of energy and laughter and we had so much fun staying till the end.
We would like to wish the newlyweds a magical married journey and want to thank you for choosing us to be part of your special day.

Sikh Wedding Photography and Video at Stratford Manor // Harjinder and Nav

Harjinder and Nav got married in a religious sikh wedding ceremony at Leamington Spa Gurdwara. The couple both get ready at their respective family homes with their loved ones. We were able to capture some family photographs while the couple were surrounded with their loved along with some portrait shots of both Bride and Groom in their homes.
It decided to rain in the morning, so once all the guests got to the Gurdwara, the milni (exchange of garlands) was held inside the foyer before Harjinder made his entrance into the wedding ceremony, later followed by our lovely bride Nav. The registry wedding took place first before the traditional sikh ceremony began. Once the 4 laavan were complete, guests had the opportunity to give a gift of money and congratulate the couple.  The couple then had a few portraits shot in the ceremony room before entering the langhar hall (food hall) to have a sit down meal, followed by the goodbye ceremony, where the brides family wishes her farewell before she starts her new married journey.
The couple had their reception party at Stratford Manor, in Leamington Spa. The sun finally came out so we were able to take the couple around the grounds to have a lovely couples photoshoot. Harjinder wore a 3 piece suit while Nav chose a lovely blue lengha with pink details for her 2nd outfit. As guests arrived and got seated, the couple made their grand entrance into the venue and headed for the cake table. The venue was decorated with light tones and peach details. Harjinder and Nav had an entourage of dancing loved ones follow them in during their grand entrance. This was going to be a pretty crazy party! Once the couple cut their cake, they took a breather by heading to their top-table and tucking into their starters.[/spoiler] The newlyweds stepped onto the dance floor for their first dance to celebrate their new journey. The DJ invited everyone onto the dance floor to join the couple once the first dance had finished and the party well and truly began. To finish off the night we took the couple to have some final creative images taken. We had such a blast being part of your day Harjinder and Nav. Thank you for choosing us to capture your special moments.

Sikh Wedding Photography and Video at Park Hall, Woverhampton // Pav & Dilraj

Dilraj and Pav had a beautiful Sikh wedding ceremony at Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Willenhall. Pav got ready at her family home in Wolverhampton and was surrounded by her loved ones from near and far. She wore beautiful detailed Indian bridal outfit with a bright orange dupatta to add a bit of summery contrast. Once Pav was ready, we took formal photographs with her main family in front of her lovely home, before she set off on her way to the Gurdwara.  Dilraj also got ready at his family home in Telford with his nearest and dearest. He wore a traditional Indian Groom’s outfit, a champagne gold sherwani.

The couple met in the darbar sahib to officially become husband and wife. Once their Sikh wedding ceremony had finished, we took the couple outside of the Gurdwara to capture some couples photos before they headed off to get changed. The couple chose the beautiful Ramada Park Hall Hotel to hold their reception party in. We had some of our team head to the venue to capture details of the decor and grounds before the guests started to arrive. Pav changed into a beautiful golden Indian gown for the reception while Dilraj put on a 3 piece suit. While guests mingled and waited for the couple, the renowned Gabhru Punjab De bhangra dancers. The couple had a quick photoshoot in they new outfits before they entered to cut their cake.

Pav’s sisters made an emotional yet funny speech along with Dilraj’s best friends and Dilraj himself. This lead onto their first dance, which we LOVED as it was choreographed and made for a beautiful capture. The dance floor opened and the celebrations began. These guys know how to party! After a long evening of celebrations, Dilraj surprised Pav with a vintage car for them both to leave in. Pav and Dilraj continued with the traditional Doli and Paniwaarna ceremonies before the night ended.

Pav and Dilraj, you make a lovely couple and we are so thankful you chose The Finishing Touch team to capture your special moments.
